Tradition and Future Vision
In the late sixties Mr.Salvador Esquerra Romeu, the current president of the company, set up by himself the trade of chemical products for the leather tanning sector.
He began the activity in the heart of the tanning neighbourhood of Igualada town, one of the most traditional and prestigious places with greatest activity production in leather tanning sector all around Europe.
Soon afterwards he moved to a small premises in Òdena, which borders on Igualada, where he started mixing powder products for soles.
In the mid seventies and very close to the old factory, the first building was constructed in the industrial park of Pla de la Masia.
Actually it is still part of the current premises of QUIMSER after several transformations and enlargements.
The incorporation of new staff and new facilities gradually enabled the expansion of its product collection until the company achieved a full range of specialities for all the phases of tanning and leather finishing industry.
The current QUIMSER Corporation was set up in 1984, participated by the family of the founder. QUIMSER is nowadays a deeply-rooted family company, even though it exports 70% of its total production.
